Shepherd joins CSP as plant manager

NORTH BALTIMORE — Continental Structural Plastics has announced that William James “Jim” Shepherd has
joined the company as plant manager of the village manufacturing facility.
Shepherd brings more than 34 years of manufacturing and project management experience to the CSP team.
Prior to joining CSP, he was a director with Argo Inc., an operations consulting firm focused on helping
midsize and large companies in the transportation, oil and gas, chemicals and manufacturing sectors to
improve operations, enterprise asset management and profitability.
Shepherd was also the CEO of his own consulting firm for seven years. His career began in the aerospace
industry, where he specialized in turning around troubled satellite and space laser programs.
“Jim brings considerable technical, operations and project management experience to CSP,” said Chris
Twining, vice president, operations for CSP. “We look forward to the expertise and insight he will add
to the North Baltimore operations.”
Shepherd’s functional expertise includes Lean and Six Sigma manufacturing experience; operational and
financial analysis; electrical and systems engineering; operational due diligence; accountability
systems and value engineering. In his new position with CSP, he will be responsible for the daily
operations, production and efficiency of the 320,000-square-foot North Baltimore facility.
“This position with CSP will give me the opportunity to implement many of the operational best practices
I have developed over my career working with a variety of industries,” Shepherd said. “I am familiar
with CSP and this facility, having consulted with them in the past. I am anxious to get engaged with the
team here, and with the North Baltimore community.”
Shepherd holds a BSEE and MSEE, Physics and Electro-optics, from Southern Illinois University in
Carbondale, an MBA from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, and an Operations Management and
Supply Chain Management certification from MIT.
