The Ohio State Highway Patrol and other members of the 6-State Trooper Project will collaborate to focus
on speed, safety belt and OVI enforcement along Interstate 75. This initiative will begin on Friday at
12:01 a.m. and end on Sunday at 11:59 p.m.
The high-visibility enforcement will include the Kentucky State Police, Michigan State Police and OSHP.

There were 13,802 OVI-related crashes on Ohio’s roadways in 2018, killing 382 and injuring 7,941. Last
year, 35 percent of all fatal crashes in Ohio involved alcohol and/or drugs.
“Troopers continually look for violations that can contribute to or cause fatal crashes, including speed,
safety belt and OVI,” said Col. Paul A. Pride, patrol superintendent. “The objective is for every
motorist in Ohio and our neighboring states to arrive at their destination safely.”
The 6-State Trooper Project is a multi-state law enforcement partnership aimed at providing combined and
coordinated law enforcement and security services in the areas of highway safety, criminal patrol and
intelligence sharing.
