Eat pizza, read pages
PERRYSBURG — Pizza and Pages Book Club, for teens, will meet Friday at 4:15 p.m. at Way Public Library,
101 E. Indiana Ave.
This month, the group will be be discussing “From Twinkle, with Love” by Sandhya Menon.
Aspiring filmmaker and wallflower Twinkle Mehra has stories she wants to tell and universes she wants to
explore, if only the world would listen. So when fellow film geek Sahil Roy approaches her to direct a
movie for the upcoming Summer Festival, Twinkle is all over it. The chance to publicly showcase her
voice as a director? Dream come true. The fact that it gets her closer to her longtime crush, Neil
Roy-a.k.a. Sahil’s twin brother? When mystery man N begins emailing her, Twinkle is sure it’s Neil,
finally ready to begin their happily-ever-after. The only problem is that, in the course of
movie-making, she’s fallen madly in love with the irresistibly adorable Sahil.

Break-it Make-it with Home Depot
Youth, ages 10 and up, or younger accompanied by an adult, are invited to the Wood County District Public
Library Children’s Place, 251 N. Main St., to investigate DVD players on Saturday from 2-3 p.m. for
Break-It & Make-It with Home Depot.
Youth will take apart DVD players and investigate how they play DVDs.
Break-It & Make-It with Home Depot is a hands-on program and monthly partnership between the

Budding bakers invited to BGSU kitchen
A Valentine’s Day Treats Kids Class will be held Saturday from 10 a.m.-noon at the Bowling Green State
University teaching kitchen.
Learn to make, bake and decorate treats with a chef and dietitian. This is for children ages 9-12;
parent/guardian participation is optional.
Cupid Cupcakes and Ladybug Cookies are on the menu. The cost is $20 per baker.

Join in Lego time
Come to the Weston Public Library and Grand Rapids Branch Library to build a Lego Robot using the
instructional book Build It! Robots.
The event will be held Saturday from 10:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
Learn about Victorian Valentines, create sun catchers at program
FREMONT – Kids can make a Valentine’s Day sun catcher and create their own poems on Saturday during
Second Saturdays R 4 Kids.
The program is from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. and is for kids ages 4 through 12.
The theme is “I Love Lucy,” in honor of First Lady Lucy Hayes, who had a long and loving relationship
with her husband, President Rutherford B. Hayes.
Kids will explore Victorian-era Valentines and the letters Lucy and Rutherford sent to each other.
They will use tissue paper and glue to create a heart-shaped sun catcher and paper and glue to make their
own poems.
Cost is $3 for kids. There is no charge for adults to bring kids to this program.
Kids and grandkids of Hayes Presidential Library & Museums members at the family level and higher
are admitted for free.

Homeschoolers’ Book Talk at Way
PERRYSBURG — This month’s Homeschoolers’ Book Talk, set for Monday at 1:30 p.m. at Way Public Library, is
on “The Island of Dr. Libris” by Chris Grabenstein.
What if your favorite characters came to life? Billy’s spending the summer in a lakeside cabin that
belongs to the mysterious Dr. Libris. But something strange is going on. Besides the security cameras
everywhere, there’s Dr. Libris’s private bookcase. Whenever Billy opens the books inside, he can hear
sounds coming from the island in the middle of the lake. The clash of swords. The twang of arrows.
Sometimes he can even feel the ground shaking. It’s almost as if the stories he’s reading are coming to
life.
This program is for children ages 8-12.

Lots to do in N. Baltimore
NORTH BALTIMORE — Join in Lego play or hear a story at the library, 230 N. Main St.
Lego play is Tuesday at 3 p.m. There will be a preschool storytime on Tuesday at 10 a.m.
Make a valentine craft on Wednesday at 3 p.m. There will be valentine’s bingo on Feb. 14 at 3 p.m.
Storybook Spotlight on crayons
PERRYSBURG — Celebrate the stories “The Day the Crayons Quit” and “The Day the Crayons Came Home” by Drew
Daywalt at the Storybook Spotlight program. It will be held Tuesday at 4:15 p.m. and is for children
ages 5-7.
There will be games, crafts, and snacks all in honor of these colorful crayons. For more information,

Lego League Challenges
PERRYSBURG — Lego League: Lego League Challenges, for children ages 4 and older, will be held Feb. 14 at
Way Public Library, 101 E. Indiana Ave., at 4:15 p.m.
A librarian will give challenges for the kids to complete during the hour-long program. Challenges may
include build the tallest tower, build the longest bridge or build a maze.
Dads and daughters invited to BG dance
The Bowling Green Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a Daddy/Daughter Dance on Feb. 15 at the
Community Center, located on 1245 W. Newton Road, from 5:30-8 p.m.
Girls ages 5-13 and their parent/guardian are welcome to get dressed up for dinner, dessert and dancing.
A souvenir photo will also be taken.
The cost is $47 per couple (residents), $52 per couple (non-residents) and $12 for each additional

See planetarium show
“Journey to Earth” is playing at the Bowling Green State University Planetarium through Saturday.
The show is “It’s About Time: A Tale of Secrets of Our Clocks and Calendars.”
The planetarium is a 114-seat public science theater serving BGSU students, area schools and the public
of Northwest Ohio. Set under a 40-foot dome, the state-of-the-art SciDome video system fills the dome
with video that can immerse visitor in the cosmos and can show the sky as it would be seen from any
place on the Earth at any time.
Show times are 7:30 p.m. Sundays, 8 p.m. on Tuesdays and Fridays, and 2 p.m. on Saturdays.

Enroll for PathStone programs now
PathStone’s new Mentoring For Youth Program is enrolling Bowling Green area youth ages 14-17 years old.

Mentoring For Youth Program strives to increase opportunities for pro-social behaviors, volunteering,
community involvement, and leadership skills through pairing youth with mentors for one-on-one and group
activities.
Pathstone offers free tutoring, networking, and mentoring with screened and trained community and college
volunteers. Groups often meet after school at the office or at the high school and Pathstone can provide
transportation to and from events.
The program also provides connections to resources, workshops, and trainings to families of the youth.

Don’t stress over the dress
FINDLAY — The 11th annual Don’t Stress Over the Dress event will be held next month at the Findlay
Village Mall.
Dates are March 8 from 3-8 p.m., March 9 from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. and March 10 from 1-4 p.m.
There will be over 800 next-to-new, current gowns are available at no charge. Gowns will be available in
all sizes and styles and some still have the tags on them. There will be shoes, jewelry and other
prom-related items.
The day of the event there will be drawings for free prizes which will be given to high school prom-goers
only.
On Sunday only, any person in need of a formal dress who is unable to purchase one may attend.
Each girl is allowed to receive one dress. Each girl may bring with her one female guest (parent or
friend) to help her shop An adult cannot shop for a girl unless that girl is present.
