Apply for Otsego board of education seat

TONTOGANY — The Otsego Local Schools Board of Education is in search of a new member due to the death of
a member.
“We have lost a dear friend and valued board member this week. Judy Snyder passed away peacefully at
Bridge Hospice on Jan. 30,” Superintendent Adam Koch said in a notice to the community.
“Judy was starting her 10th year as a board member. She loved everything about Otsego and supported our
students, staff, and community more than anyone can imagine. We are all going to miss her support and
love for Otsego.”
The board of education is required by law to fill the vacancy within 30 days.
Anyone interested in this open seat to send a letter of interest/bio to the Central Office in the
attention of Steve Carroll. Applicants may also email letters to Carroll at [email protected]

The deadline to apply is Feb. 15. The board will be required to fill the position by Feb. 28.
The person selected for this vacancy will fill this position for 2019 and then if he or she would like to
run for the remaining two years of the position, he or she will have to run for a seat in the November
election.
The board will discuss and hold interviews at their regularly scheduled board of education meeting on
Feb. 21 at 6 p.m. in the high school library.
