The Otsego FFA Chapter, along with five other satellite FFA chapters from Penta Career Center, attended
National FFA Convention in Indianapolis.
Members who attended were Seth Pullins, Jacob Caris, Abby Gase, Courtney Reymone, Amelia Pullins, Kylie
Brinkman, Macy Thomas and Savannah Hernandez.
The National FFA president honored the Otsego FFA Chapter with a 3-Star National Chapter Award during the
second convention session. Pullins and Caris accepted the award on behalf of the chapter. The award is
given to the top chapters in the nation based on their activities in the areas of student development,
chapter development, and community development. This is the third consecutive year for this
accomplishment.
While at convention members attended sessions and heard motivational speaker Rick Rigsby. Members
attended the career show where they interacted with agribusinesses, non-profit organizations and
colleges. Members learned about agricultural careers, and attended a rodeo and a Garth Brooks concert.

As previously announced, Jean Scott of Tontogany was given the Honorary American FFA Degree. This is
given to individuals who have provided exceptional service on a national level to agriculture,
agricultural education and the FFA. Scott has been supporter for the Otsego Penta FFA Chapter since
early 1960s and still attends both state and national FFA Conventions. Colton Battin and Morgan Mazey
earned their American FFA degree.
