BG FFA lends helping hand for holidays

Bowling Green FFA members helped to brighten the holidays for more than 100 families through numerous
projects.
FFA members volunteered to load meals and other donated items before Thanksgiving, through a program
sponsored by the Salvation Army and local churches.
Senior officers Gus Eschedor, Kassie Fintel, Jackie Steel and Cassidy Hendricks went on a shopping spree
to Walmart to buy toys, books and clothes for a family that the chapter adopted through the Dear Santa
program through the Bowling Green City Schools. The students wrapped and delivered the presents before
Christmas.
The chapter also donated citrus fruit cases and fruit baskets to the Dear Santa families. Fruit was also
donated to the Bowling Green Christian Food Pantry.
Thayer’s “Christmas Dreams” program also received the FFA’s help by its donation of more than 2,500
square feet of wrapping paper to give along with the toys they collected during the holiday season.
First-year FFA members, in the two agricultural science classes, enjoyed making 150 candy cane reindeer
to give to two area nursing homes and their residents.
FFA members also collected 100 various items to donate to the Wood County Humane Society. Items included
cleaning supplies, dog and cat food, toys, and office supplies.
