MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. — Justin Turner took over late and almost single-handedly led Bowling Green State
University’s men’s basketball team to a 97-87 overtime win over Central Michigan Saturday in McGuirk
Arena.
Turner finished with 30 points — 12 coming in the overtime period — as the Falcons won their seventh
straight game by 10 or more points. It is the first time since 1947-48 that they’ve accomplished that
feat.
Bowling Green is 11-5 overall, and it’s 3-0 in the Mid-American Conference for the first time since
2004-05.
Central Michigan is 13-3, 2-1.
Michael Laster had 18 points for Bowling Green, while Dylan Frye and Antwon Lillard each had 11. Matiss
Kulackovskis added 10 points, all in the first half. Demajeo Wiggins had 16 rebounds.
The Falcons saw a 16-point second-half lead slip away as Central Michigan got hot shooting. The Chippewas
used a 28-11 run over 6:17 to take their first lead of the second half with 6:11 to play.
Central Michigan led 78-72 with 1:33 left and the Falcons got it back to 78-76 with 43 seconds to play.

After a missed 3-pointer by the Chippewas, Turner sank two free throws with seven seconds left to tie the
game at 78-78. He then stole the ball on Central’s ensuing possession to force overtime.
With the score tied 87-87, Turner drilled a step-back 3-pointer to push Bowling Green ahead with 1:53
left in overtime. Central Michigan missed at the other end and Turner connected on a jumper to extend
the Bowling Green lead to 92-87.
The Chippewas turned it over on their next two possessions, both leading to two free throws from Turner —
the final pair making it 96-87 with 36 seconds left.
The Falcons were 6-for-8 from the floor in the overtime period. Turner was 3-for-4, scoring all but seven
of BG’s 19 points.
Turner also finished with six of Bowling Green’s 11 assists in the game. He was 10-for-22 from the field
and 7-for-7 from the free-throw line.
The Falcons scored 41 points off the bench, their second straight game with 40-plus bench points. They
converted 22 points off 15 Central Michigan turnovers.
Bowling Green returns home Tuesday when it hosts Ball State at 7 p.m.
