Eva Marie Saint will return to Bowling Green State University to celebrate the re-opening of the Gish
Film Theater— the newly renovated cinema now located in 206 Bowen-Thompson Student Union on campus.
Saint’s visit is scheduled for March 29 at 7 p.m. at the theater.
Saint, an Academy Award winner, is a 1946 graduate of BGSU who was awarded an honorary doctorate in 1982.

During her career on stage, television and in film, she has appeared in more than 160 productions,
including the Alfred Hitchcock film "North by Northwest" and Elia Kazan’s "On the
Waterfront" with Marlon Brando in 1954, for which she won an Academy Award for Best Supporting
Actress. She eventually worked with Paul Newman, Bob Hope, Elizabeth Taylor, Cary Grant and many other
well-known actors.
Saint last visited BGSU in April when she received the Lifetime Achievement Award during the BGSU’s
Bravo! A celebration supporting scholarships in the arts.
The original Gish Film Theater in Hanna Hall was dedicated in 1976 to honor the achievements of Ohio
natives Dorothy and Lillian Gish, renowned actresses of the stage and screen.
The evening will include a reception at 6 p.m. and a special appearance by Saint, who appeared with
Lillian Gish in the classic television movie, "The Trip to Bountiful."
The event is free; however, because there is limited seating, tickets are required and may be claimed by
visiting the ticketing site. For more information, call 419-372-2222.
