Falcons down Lake Superior State, 5-3

SAULT STE MARIE, Mich. — Bowling Green State University’s hockey team used a strong second period to down
Lake Superior State, 5-3, in a Western Collegiate Hockey Association game in Taffy Abel Arena, Friday
night.
The 15th-ranked Falcons improved to 15-8-6 overall and 12-4-5 in the WCHA to close within two points of
first-place Minnesota State.
Lake Superior State is 6-19-4, 4-14-3 and has lost six of its last seven games.
Bowling Green broke a 2-2 tie with second-period goals from Lukas Craggs, Brandon Kruse and Tyler Spezia.

Alec Rauhauser and Max Johnson also scored for the Falcons, while Casey Linkenheld had a pair of assists.
Rauhauser also had an assist.
Bowling Green dominated the second period offensively, outshooting the Lakers 13-2. The Falcons were able
to hold on despite being outshot 18-1 in the third.
Ryan Bednard had 24 saves for Bowling Green, including 17 in the third.
Lake Superior State had a 2-1 lead within the first four minutes of action. Johnson tied the game with a
power-play goal at 10:21 in the first. Craggs scored at 8:25 in the second period to put the Falcons
ahead for good.
The teams finish their series tonight at 7:07.
