BG’s Art Walk has made great strides in 25 years

The 25th Annual Art Walk is taking place throughout Downtown Bowling Green on April 29 from 10 a.m.-4
p.m. with a wide variety of events planned.
All of the proceeds made from Art Walk benefit the Downtown Foundation Flower Fund, which provides for
seasonal flowers make to make downtown a vibrant place for community and visitors.
Downtown Bowling Green and the Bowling Green Arts Council have put together a walking gallery of more
than 30 local artists. The participating businesses will have gallery sign set in front of their stores
to make it easy to locate the artists. Brochures will also be available with a map of the featured
stops. The art being displayed will range from paintings, to jewelry, to sculptures.
The fourth annual Quilt Exhibit will be held at the Four Corners Center, 130 S. Main St., during Art
Walk. There will be demonstrations and displays as well as a quilt raffle. The quilt being raffled off
is a handmade quilt created by the Black Swamp Quilters. Tickets for the raffle can be purchased at
www.downtownbgohio.org, at The Busy Thimble, or at the Four Corners Center the day of Art Walk.
Project Silver Shoe commemorates the 25th anniversary of Art Walk and winners will be selected through a
silent auction the day of Art Walk. Casual artists were asked to create a piece using a silver shoe and
flowers. The public is encouraged to come out to the Four Corners Center and support a favorite artist
and the Downtown Foundation Flower Fund with bids. Don Rose Auctioneers are sponsoring the prizes of
this event.  
The Downtown Foundation has acquired a Baker O’Brien art glass pony to raffle through the help of the
artist and Banfax Pest Control. O’Brien is an accomplished world-class glass artist and was the sole
apprentice of Dominick Labino. Raffle tickets are $5 each and can be purchased at
www.downtownbgohio.org, at the Downtown Bowling Green office, Waddington Jewelers where it is currently
on display, or at Four Corners Center the day of Art Walk. Online ticket sales will end Friday at
midnight.
