Minecraft Mania at library
The Children’s Place of the Wood County District Public Library, 251 N. Main St., is hosting Minecraft
Mania on Friday from 4-5 p.m.
Youth can learn more about Minecraft, share ideas, plan and create together within the Minecraft World on
the library server.  
Participants are welcome to bring their own device with their own Minecraft account to share strategies
and demonstrate how to play to newbies.  
Minecraft is a popular online video game that encourages players to build, create, and interact within a
shared world and is being used as a teaching tool within classrooms and public libraries. Check out the
library’s selection of Minecraft books, including fiction stories and how-to.

‘Break-It & Make-It’ with Home Depot
Local youth 10 and up are invited to the Wood County District Public Library Children’s Place, 251 N.
Main St., on Saturday from 2-3 p.m. during the Break-It & Make-It with Home Depot monthly
program.
In conjunction with the Court Street Connects event, youth will investigate, take apart and tinker with
bicycles donated by the BG Police Division. All tools and safety equipment will be provided.

Try out for ‘Lion King Jr.’
Auditions for Waterville Playshop’s production of “Lion King Jr.” are Saturday from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at the
Waterville Playshop, 808 Michigan Ave.  
There are roles for children ages 6-18.

Meet ‘Alice’ at Way storytime
PERRYSBURG — “Once Upon a Time with Alice,” a storytime focusing on “Alice in Wonderland” will be held
Saturday from 10-11 a.m. at Way Public Library, 101 E. Indiana Ave.
All ages are welcome to meet Alice from Laurel’s Princess Parties and participate in a sing-a-long. She
will also read a story.

Get involved on service day
TOLEDO — Global Youth Service Day is Saturday at United Way of Greater Toledo, 424 Jackson St.
In the Toledo area, youth are invited to join in projects from 9 a.m.-noon, then attend a free lunch and
celebration on the United Way lawn.
Global Youth Service Day is the largest annual youth service event in the world. United Way Volunteer
Center collaborates with youth, local agency partners and companies in the greater Toledo area to create
a positive impact in the community. Register by emailing [email protected] or by calling

Be part of BGHS’s ‘Shrek’
The Bowling Green High School Drama Club will hold a “Shrek the Musical” workshop for kids on Sunday
before the matinee.
Children ages 6-12 can participate in theater games, eat Shrek snacks and get a backstage tour. It will
be held Sunday from 12:15-1:130 p.m. at the Bowling Green City schools Performing Arts Center. The cost

Legopalooza at the library
Families are invited to the monthly Legopalooza program at the Children’s Place of the Wood County
District Public Library, 251 N. Main St., on Sunday from 2-3 p.m.   
The library staff will share the Lego collection along with pictures and books for creative ideas, as
well as a group building challenge.

Skype with author, hear a story at Walbridge library
WALBRIDGE — Author Jennifer Niven will Skype at the library, 108 N. Main St., on Monday at 3:30 p.m.
Niven is an award-winning young adult author who writes both fiction and non-fiction books. She is most
known for “All the Bright Places” which is soon to be a major motion picture.
Storytime Animal Sounds for babies and toddlers will be held at the library on April 29 at 10:30 a.m.
Come for stories, songs and early literacy activities. Both of these free programs take place in the
library’s new meeting room.
Read pages, eat pizza
Pizza and Pages, the middle school book group, meets on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. in the Bowling Green Middle
School’s Media Center. Enjoy pizza-flavored snacks and a book discussion.
Pizza and Pages is a partnership between Bowling Green City Schools and the Wood County District Public
Library and is open to all area sixth-eighth graders. The Children’s Place of the library has multiple
copies of the preselected books available to check out. This month, choose one or more of the following
“Just Different” titles: “Sticks and Stones” by Abby Cooper, “Absolutely Almost” by Lisa Graff and
“OCDaniel” by Wesley King.
