Caregiver’s Night Out planned for April 28

More than 65 million people, 29 percent of the U.S. population, provide care for a chronically ill,
disabled or aged family member or friend during any given year and spend an average of 20 hours per week
providing care for their loved one, according to caregiveraction.org.
In order to support these caregivers, the Wood County Committee on Aging will be facilitating its third
annual Caregiver’s Night Out on April 28 from 5 to 7 p.m.
Caregivers from all around the county are invited to the Bowling Green Senior Center, 305 North Main St.,
for a relaxing, rejuvenating and socially engaging evening that will allow time for some self-care.
The interactive sessions will allow the caregivers to take part in classes and programs such as cardio
drumming, manicures, massages, meditation, painting and more. Dinner with live music will be provided.

Caregivers’ care recipients will also enjoy an evening out with games and activities at First Christian
Church, 875 Haskins Road, Bowling Green while accompanied by BGSU student volunteers and home-care
staff. Caregivers will also have the option of spending the evening independently.
The staff is seeking registrations as soon as possible to accommodate all who wish to take part.
