BGSU arts event to raise funds for scholarships

An evening of the arts will be the feature fundraising event at Bowling Green State University on
Saturday with the third annual Bravo! BGSU.
The Wolfe Center will be alight with the best vocal, instrumental and theatrical performances, plus
exhibitions and demonstrations by student and faculty artists in glass, ceramics, metals and digital
arts.
“Bravo! BGSU is a wonderful evening that allows us to showcase the talents of our students, faculty and
alumni in the arts,” said BGSU President Mary Ellen Mazey. “We are fortunate to have strong support from
the community and the presenting sponsorship by PNC for the third consecutive year.”
Funds raised from the event benefit scholarships for arts students from the College of Musical Arts,
School of Art, Department of Theatre and Film, the Creative Writing Program and the Dance Program. Last
year’s event raised more than $70,000 for scholarships.
The arts have been a central feature of BGSU for more than 100 years. Entertainment will be provided by
both students and faculty, some visiting to teach and study from far flung nations.
This year’s celebration features a finale that showcases an accordion virtuoso, dedication of a Steinway
piano with two special piano performances, an operatic duo and a reprisal from last fall’s theater and
film production of “The Drowsy Chaperone.” From Broadway vignettes to musical ensembles and solos, from
live painting and backstage activity to virtual and augmented reality demonstrations, it will be a night
to remember.
The celebration will begin at 7 p.m. in the Wolfe Center for the Arts. Patron tickets for this
fundraising event are $100 per person with a variety of sponsorships available. To purchase tickets,
