BEMIDJI, Minn. — The Falcons picked up the first goal in Game 1 against the Bemidji State
Beavers, but most importantly they picked up the last goal — an overtime shot to seal the 4-3 victory in
Minnesota.

Kevin DuFour had a hat trick on the night, notching the first goal and the game winner, with
another one in between during the third period.

The Beavers’ first goal came at 14:09 of the first period, a Phillip Marinaccio shot just
behind the goal line that made it past BGSU goalie Chris Nell to tie it up.

Bemidji went ahead in the second on a Myles Fitzgerald score and the Beavers held off the
Falcons for the period. Bowling Green had its fewest shots in the second with 5 to Bemidji State’s
14.

The third period opened up with a BGSU game-tying goal from Matt Pohlkamp 32 seconds in to
beat BSU goalie Michael Bitzer. Pohlkamp’s wrist shot was assisted by Tyler Spezia. Bemidji pulled ahead
just over a minute later with Nate Arentz going five-hole to make the game 3-2.

DuFour poked the puck in at the goal line at 13:30 to knot the score at 3 all. Shot output
improved in the third, as the Falcons notched 10 tries but were still bested by the Beavers’ 16 shots.

DuFour’s game-winning hat trick goal came at 17:23 of the overtime period.
The Falcons improve to 20-17-2 and the Beavers’ record moves to 22-15-3. The best of three
series continues tonight at 8:07 p.m. at Bemidji.
