No America Reads Tutoring during BGSU spring break
There will be no America Reads Tutoring at the Wood County District Public Library Monday through
Thursday due to Bowling Green State University’s spring break.
Free tutoring and homework help for students K-5 with BGSU Students trained by the Martha Gesling Weber
Reading Center will resume on March 13, and be available each Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
from 6-8 p.m. in the Quiet Study Room.
Call the Children’s Place desk at 419-352-8253 with any questions. The library is located at 251 N. Main
St.
Men’s coffee group meets
LUCKEY — A men’s coffee group will meet at the library, 228 Main St., every Monday at 9:30 a.m. No
registration is required; just show up for some coffee and laughs.
Shoot the Bull goes until 10:30 a.m.
Knitters invited to library
PEMBERVILLE — Knitters Anonymous will meet Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the library, 375 E. Front St.
People who love to knit or crochet are invited to attend. All experience levels are welcome.
Family App-y Hour at library
Families interested in learning more about selecting and sharing high quality apps with children are
invited to a monthly Family App-y Hour at the Wood County District Public Library on Wednesday from 5-6
p.m.
Children’s Place staff will join the conversation and demonstrate a few apps, electronics library
resources, as well as share some healthy appetizers.
Bring a device if possible.
Fostoria woman in need of life-saving transplant
FOSTORIA — The doctors at University Hospitals Transplant Institute in Cleveland have recommended a
life-saving lung transplant for a local woman who has cystic fibrosis.  
Local volunteers hope to raise $50,000 for Kara King.
Donations may be mailed to the Children’s Organ Transplant Association, 2501 West COTA Drive,
Bloomington, Indiana, 47403.  
Checks or money orders should be made payable to COTA, with “In Honor of Team Kara K” written on the memo
line.
Credit card donations are accepted online at www.COTAforTeamKaraK.com.
Pulmonary support available
The Northwest Ohio Pulmonary Hypertension Support Group will meet Thursday at 6 p.m. in the Guild Room at
Wood County Hospital.
The guest speaker at the meeting will be Jenny Barbos, client service director at the Ability Center of
Toledo.
Her topic will be “The Training and use of Assistance Dogs.” There will be a dog present for
demonstration.
The meeting is open to pulmonary hypertension patients, caregivers, friends, family, medical
professionals and anyone who would like to learn about the disease.

Learn about apps at Way
On Thursday from 6-7:30 p.m., Way Public Library will offer “There’s an App for That.”
This is a class for learning about fun, new downloadable apps for your Android or Apple mobile device.

Apps related to videos, social media, ebooks, weather, shopping, news, and more will be covered.
This program is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be provided. Registration is not required.
