CIFT has new manufacturing engineer

TOLEDO — Rebecca A. Singer, president and CEO of the Center for Innovative Food Technology, announced
John Harkness was hired as a manufacturing engineer.
With more than 30 years of processing machinery experience, Harkness will provide technology-based and
supply-chain solutions to manufacturers through the Northwest Ohio affiliate of the Ohio Manufacturing
Extension Partnership.
The Ohio MEP is a recognized leader in providing technical innovations and solutions to manufacturers
with special expertise in the food processing industry as delivered by the regional center, CIFT.
Prior to joining CIFT, he served as the head engineer for North Star Engineered Products — a division of
Glassline Corporation that manufactures fresh produce processing machinery.
Harkness graduated from Bowling Green State University in 1985 with a bachelor of science in technology
with a concentration in mechanical design.
