Sojourner to appear
WAYNE — The Sojourner Quartet, which is based in Findlay, will appear at 10:30 a.m. March 5 at New Hope
Christian Church, at Freeport Hall, 3700 Girton Road, Wayne.
Pancakes to be served Tuesday
On Tuesday, First Presbyterian Church, 126 S. Church St., is hosting a Mardi Gras Pancake Supper from 6-8
p.m.
This is an event to raise money for refugee resettlement and assistance efforts. A member of the
congregation, inspired by a sermon that called folks to “do something,” got the idea of hosting an event
to raise money for refugees. It’s important to demonstrate, to hold signs, to give speeches, to contact
representatives and to make your voice heard, but it’s also important to do something concrete to help.

The event is open to the community, and as part of the evening, the church is partnering with the
International Studies department at Bowling Green State University in gathering supplies for US
Together, a refugee resettlement agency in Toledo. Items may be brought to the pancake dinner, including
comforters and bed sheets (queen-size and twin-size), bath towels, waste baskets (kitchen and bathroom
size), serving spoons, silverware, mixing bowls,  cookware, garbage bags, can openers and floor lamps.
