Mahaffey, Sauter crowned at Rossford

Megan Mahaffey and Adam Sauter were crowned winter homecoming queen and king at Rossford High School
Friday night.
Mahaffey is the daughter of Maria Laubenthal and Jason Mahaffey. She is the vice president of the senior
class, a member of student council and the National Honor Society. She is a member of the Red Cross
Club, vice president of the Art Club, a Link Crew leader and editor of the school newspaper. She is a
varsity cheerleader, public relations representative for DECA and participates in broomball. Outside of
school, Mahaffey has coached 3rd and 4th grade little league cheerleading.
She would like to attend the University of Toledo or Bowling Green State University but is currently
undecided on her major.
Sauter is the son of Doug and Jackie Sauter. He has been a member of the Rossford football and baseball
teams for four years, and has been a drama club member for eight years – debuting as “Young Patrick” in
the musical “Mame” when he was 10 years old. He is currently secretary of the drama club, a Link Crew
leader and a member of the varsity choir and band.
He is currently employed by the House of Meats in Rossford and is part of 3B Productions Group in
Waterville. He plans to attend a four-year university with the goal of getting a master’s degree in
musical theater or secondary English education to become a high school English teacher.
Also on the court were seniors Allison Juergens, Joey Korzec, Summer Wheaton Rodriguez and Zachary Lewis;
Penta representatives Shaelyn Agocs and Andrew Batdorf; juniors Sydney Snyder and Ryan Jagodzinski;
sophomores Olivia Harmon and Cole Szczublewski; and freshmen Alyssa Morris and Lukas Klotz.
Juergens is the daughter of Andrea Hansen and Matt Juergens. She is the editor of the Maroon Messenger
school newspaper, secretary of varsity choir, and a member of Rossford DECA, the SOS Club and Drama
Club. She also is a majorette with the Rossford Bulldog Marching Band.
She is currently a fashion associate at Meijer Rossford and plans to go to Owens Community College for
business advertising and marketing and hopes to travel to Europe after she graduates.
Korzec is the son of Todd and JoAnn Korzec. He is a member of the National Honor Society, SOS Club,
International Club, student council and the varsity football team. He is employed at Carranor Hunt and
Polo Club and volunteers at Mercy/St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo Museum of Art and Meals on Wheels.
He plans to attend the University of Toledo in the fall of 2017 and major in pre-med.
Wheaton Rodriguez is the daughter of Jennifer Galliers and Michael Rodriguez. She is a member of student
council and the National Honor Society. She is the treasurer of her class, secretary of the Art Club,
president of the RHS Drama Club and a member of the Red Cross Club and varsity choir.
She works as a lifeguard at Ft. Meigs YMCA and the Perrysburg City Pool and volunteers at the Toledo
Museum of Art. She plans to attend the University of Toledo to study secondary education and possibly
minor in the performing arts.
Lewis is the son of Robert and Shanda Lewis and Darlene Kepling. He is a member of DECA Marketing and was
a coordinator for its annual Halloween Parade and volunteered to be Santa for its Wood County Humane
Society fundraiser in December. He has varsity letters in football, baseball and track and was a coach
for little league football camp his freshman year. He also is a member of the International Club.
He works at his family’s café and plans to attend college to be a physical therapy assistant.
Agocs is the daughter of Delanda Agocs and Scott Baker. She is class president of her Med Tech program, a
member of the varsity girl’s golf team and HOSA.  Outside of school, she is employed at TJ Maxx in
Perrysburg.
After graduation, she would like to attend college and obtain a degree in nursing; she would like to be a
traveling nurse so she can see the United States.
Batdorf is the son of Michael Batdorf. He plays football and out of school, works in a gun store in
Perrysburg. He plans to work in the HVAC trade and possibly work with a lawn and snow removal company
after graduation.
Snyder is the daughter of Marcella and Kevin Jeffries. She is a member of the International Club, SOS
Club, Link Crew, student council and Red Cross Club. She works as a hostess at Bob Evans in Perrysburg.

Jagodzinski is the son of Brent and Theresa Jagodzinski. He is a member of the basketball team and
varsity baseball team. Out of school Ryan plays on a traveling baseball team and works at Wendy’s in
Rossford. In the summer he also works for the Rossford Rec Center.
Harmon is the daughter of Aaron and Jennifer Harmon. She is a member of the volleyball and track teams.
Out of school, she plays volleyball for Glass City Volleyball Club.
Szczublewski is the son of Jackie and Marty Szczublewski. He is a member of the Rossford High School
band.
Morris is the daughter of Christine Rose and Shawn Morris. She is a member of the volleyball team and a
wrestlerette.
Klotz is the son of Jon and Gaylene Klotz. He participates in football, basketball and baseball.
