Seminar focuses on leadership

PERRYSBURG — “Be Not Afraid: Facing the Future,” is the theme of the Western Ohio Conference of the
United Methodist Church’s 2017 Leadership Development Day.
The event will be Jan, 21 from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church, 601 E. Boundary St.,
Perrysburg.
The keynote speaker will be the Rev. Brad Aycock, director of New Church Development &
Revitalization of the WOC.
The following are the courses offered:
• “How to Share Your Faith and Keep Your Friends” by the Rev. Scot Ocke, district superintendent, Maumee
Watershed District
• “Door to Core,” an in-depth study of the keynote address (Session 2) by Aycock
• “Enhancing Your Outreach Through MissionInsite,” by the Rev. Rae Lynn Schleif, assistant to the
district superintendent, Maumee Watershed District
• “Engaging Beyond The Walls: Building Missional Relationships” by Steve North, pastor, Unity UMC
• “Making Disciples 101” by Erin Hachtel, certified lay minister, Maumee Watershed District
• “Opioid Addiction: A Middle Class Epidemic,” by Nathan Kehlmeier, substance abuse professional
• “Stewardship 101” by Bruce Boyd, vice-chair of the Conference Council on Development
