To the Editor:
In the spirit of full disclosure, I cautiously voted for the current president-elect. I have gratefully
embraced his victory and am proud to be one of those working class patriots a recent letter-writer
claimed were “conned by a carnival barker.” I will have to put that opprobrium right next to my
“deplorable” and “irredeemable” trophies.
Mr. Trump has proposed as his Cabinet picks individuals who are successful in their fields of endeavor
and have the expertise to undo the reckless, disastrously failed policies of the self-righteous left. I
have hope (perhaps misguided) that our republic will rebound under Mr. Trump’s leadership. He has
undeniable character flaws, but unlike Hillary Clinton he doesn’t have a reputation for venality,
incompetence and serial criminality.
With many weapons at Mr. Trump’s disposal, I choose to believe it is still possible to bring this nation
back from the brink to which the progressive political class has brought us.
