To the Editor:
I am writing about an urgent issue that has an enormous impact on the health and well-being of Wood
County residents.
Representative Latta and Senators Portman and Brown should protect and strengthen the Affordable Care
Act, not repeal it.
Close to 25 million Americans depend on the ACA for insurance and another 5 million for Medicaid
coverage.
In particular, women have benefited from coverage of preventive tests, access to contraception without
copay, maternity care, a stipulation that women can’t be charged more than men, and provisions for
domestic violence counseling.  
Please join me in making sure our members of Congress know that we want not only that everyone in Ohio
who currently has insurance to keep it but also to expand basic health care to everyone. The more of us
who have access to healthcare, the stronger our community.
