Woodworking brings a connection for BG FFA

0

Bowling Green FFA members recently partnered with the Connection Center to construct woodworking projects
together.
Members of the chapter were put into groups and each group worked with a member from the Connection
Center in the wood shop at Bowling Green High School. The groups worked on wood projects such as
birdhouses, cutting boards and clocks.
While working on these projects, the FFA members built relationships with the Connection Center members.
Not only did they become close with them, they taught them how to properly use each piece of equipment
while following all safety precautions. The Connection Center members then take the projects home with
them.
According to Stephanie Conway, FFA adviser, this activity is great from the standpoint of the self-esteem
felt by the adults and the positive interaction with the FFA members.
The participants enjoyed a holiday party after completing the projects.
All materials for the project were provided by the BG FFA.
