Learn to skate at BGSU
The first winter Learn-to-Skate session begins this week at the Slater Family Ice Arena. Classes for ages
3–adult and all skill levels are available.
Winter I session is Saturday–Feb. 13. Classes will be offered Saturday, Sunday or Monday. Class time
depends on age and skill level. The cost is $70 (includes rental skates). Ages 3 – Adult.

Minecraft Mania at the library
The Children’s Place of the Wood County District Public Library, 251 N. Main St., is hosting a Minecraft
Mania program on Friday from 4-5 p.m.
Youth will create an ice palace or fortress and can pull ideas from books that will be on hand. Youth can
learn more about Minecraft, share ideas, plan, and create together within the Minecraft World on the
library server.  
They are welcome to bring their own device with their own Minecraft account to share strategies and
demonstrate how to play to newbies.  
Minecraft is a popular online video game that encourages players to build, create, and interact within a
shared world and is being used as a teaching tool within classrooms and public libraries. Check out the
selection of Minecraft books, including fiction stories and how-to.

Fairytale Series starts Monday
A six-week Fairytale Series starts Monday at Julie’s Dance Studio in the Woodland Mall, 1234 N. Main St.

Dances will explore a magical land while building ballet skills through creative movement, rhythm,
expression and imagination. They will also improve their tumbling skills.
This class is for ages 3-5 and costs $60. Classes will be Mondays from 5:15-5:45 p.m.

Lots to do in N. Baltimore
NORTH BALTIMORE — Join in a Lego playgroup, storytime or movie at the library, 230 N. Main St., next
week.
Activities include a preschool storytime for children ages 1-5 with an adult companion on Tuesday at 10
a.m.
Kids can join in Lego playtime on Tuesday from 3-3:45 p.m.
On Wednesday, “The BFG” will be shown starting at 3 p.m.
Just4Teens is every Thursday from 3:30-4:30 p.m.
Bookaneers talk ‘Phantom’
PERRYSBURG — Bookaneers Book Club will meet Jan. 12 from 4-5 p.m. at Way Public Library, 101 E. Indiana
Ave.
Children ages 8-10 years old are invited to discuss “The Phantom Tollbooth” by Norton Juster.
Milo, a very bored little boy, receives an unusual package one day: a make- believe tollbooth. When he
drives through it in his electric toy car, he is suddenly transported to the Lands Beyond, a fantastic
world of imagination.

Eat pizza, read pages
PERRYSBURG — Pizza & Pages Book Club meets Jan. 13 from 3:30-4:30 p.m. at Way Public Library, 101
E. Indiana Ave.
This month the group will discuss “Poison” by Bridget Zinn.
Sixteen-year-old Kyra, a highly skilled potions master, is the only one who knows her kingdom is on the
verge of destruction – which means she’s the only one who can save it. Faced with no other choice, Kyra
decides to do what she does best: poison the kingdom’s future ruler, who also happens to be her former
best friend.

Take aim at archery class
The Bowling Green Parks & Recreation Department is accepting registrations for its Saturday
Morning Archery program being held at the Veterans Building in City Park.
Three sessions are being offered on Saturdays from 10 a.m.-noon. There are three sessions:
• Jan. 14, 21 and 28
• Feb. 18, 25 and March 4
• March 18, 25 and April 1
The program is for middle school-aged students in Bowling Green schools (homeschoolers also welcome). A
younger sibling may also participate if he/she is over the age of 10 and able to safely use the
equipment.
Each session costs $25 per child. If parents want to sign their kids up for all three sessions, there
will be a $15 discount ($60 per child).
