Draw with Picasso, jam to music, play with pottery at 577 Foundation

PERRYSBURG — Children’s activities are being offered in at the 577 Foundation at 577 E. Front St.
Pre-registration is required for all classes at www.577foundation.org or 419-874-4174.
•    Partners in Fun is an art class for 3 to 4-year-olds with adult.  
The leader is Carol Jambard-Sweet and the limit is 14 per class.  
Classes are Thursdays from 10-11 a.m. The fee is $5 per child.
Next week, have some fun with sand. On Jan. 19, Make an aquarium. On Jan. 26, see what’s happening at the
zoo and make some animals.
•    Drawing fun with Mr. Picasso is for children in grades two through seven. It will be held Fridays,
Jan. 6-March 10 from 3:55-5 p.m.
Local artist Roy Wilson, as Mr. Picasso, will help youth develop drawing and compositional skills.
Explore nature and cartooning themes.
Bring a pencil, eraser and drawing pad. The class limit is 20. The fee is $50.
•    Musical Jamboree is for 2 to 4-year-olds with an adult.
The group will dance, play games, sing, listen to stories and use toy musical instruments to make music.

Take home a shaker to decorate and a CD of songs.
The leader is Elaine Sneider.
Class limit is 12. The fee is $58.
Classes are Mondays in January and February from 10-10:45 a.m.
•    In Youth Pottery, students in grades kindergarten through two will learn to make pinch, extruded,
slab, coil pots and other hand-built projects. Learn about glazing and take home several pieces.
The leader is Connie Stose, and the limit is nine per class. The fee is $75.
Classes are Tuesdays in January and Feb. 7 and 14 from 4-5 p.m.
•    In Youth Pottery, students in grades six-12 will focus on developing their creative side in
hand-built and wheel projects.
The course will feature extruded work, slab work and potter’s wheel skills. They will glaze and get an
understanding of firing.
Leaders are Stose and Scott Jones.
Classes are Tuesdays in January and Feb. 7 and 14 from 5:30-7 p.m.
The class limit is 12 and the fee is $95.
•    In Youth Pottery, students in grades three through five will learn the basics of hand building and
explore the potter’s wheel. Learn about glazing and finish their pieces with high and low fire glazes.

The leaders are Stose and Julie Beutler. Class limit is 12. Classes are Thursdays in January and Feb. 2,
9 and 16 from 4-5:30 p.m. The fee is $95.
