Van Vorhis earns scholarships to BGSU
Nick Van Vorhis will attend Bowling Green State University.
He received a BGSU Music Talent Award and BGSU Freshman Academic Scholarship valued at $40,000 over four
years.
He also received the David E. McCutcheon Memorial Scholarship valued at $500.
He is a 2015 graduate of Bowling Green High School.
Markey, Montague-Cassillas earn Glass City scholarships
Aidan Markey and Thomas Montague-Cassillas, 2015 Bowling Green High School graduates, are the recipients
of two of five $1,000 scholarships awarded by Glass City Federal Credit Union, to area students who are
attending a two or four year accredited post-secondary institution during the 2015-16 school year.
Markey is planning to attend Ohio University and major in journalism.
While a student at BGHS, he served as senior class president and was a member of the varsity basketball
team, French club, and the 2014 prom planning committee. He was also involved in the National Honor
Society, French Honor Society and a Franklin Walter Scholar. 
Montague-Cassillas is planning to attend Bowling Green State University and major in psychology. As a
BGHS student, he was involved in track and field and was on the honor roll. He was involved in many
community activities including Wood County 4-H Club, where he was a camp counselor, and the BG Volunteer
Program, where he performed more than 100 community service hours.
