Bowling Green’s boys and girls track teams each sent one athlete to the state meet after the Division I
regionals at Amherst Steele High School.
Perrysburg’s girls team had one state qualifier and Elmwood’s boys sent a relay team to state in Division
III.
In Amherst, Bowling Green’s Maria Horrigan was second in the pole vault with a jump of 12-9, and Noah
Cook was fourth in the 100 in 10.95 in the boys meet.
The top four placers at the regional qualify for the state meet, which is June 5-6 at Ohio State
University.
Horrigan is the defending state champion in the girls pole vault with a jump of 12-10 1/4 at last year’s
state meet.
Perrysburg’s Grace Lahey advanced in the 3,200, finishing in second in 11:08.99 — just over a second off
the first-place time.
In the Division III boys meet at Tiffin Frost-Kalnow Stadium, Elmwood’s Zach Spanfellner won the 300
hurdles in 39.55. Elmwood’s 1,600 relay team of Austin Jasso, Josh Mathias, Andrew Jasso and Spanfellner
was third in 3:27.59.
