Woman’s death in Northwood ‘suspicious’
NORTHWOOD – The Northwood Fire Department is inaugurating a new home fire safety assessment and smoke
detector installation program.
City firefighters will be going door-to-door in the coming months and offering a free home safety
assessment, followed by the installation of smoke detectors, to residents living in single-family homes.
One detector will be provided for each level of the home, and for each bedroom.
The service will be provided free to homeowners.
The program is the result of a $34,000 grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

The Wood County Historical Center and Northwest Ohio Blacksmith will host a forge demonstration at the
Blacksmith Shop in the center’s Boomtown Area Saturday 4 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. This is a free family
activity.
