WEDNESDAY
Pianist Laura Melton will perform a Faculty Artist Series recital at 8 p.m. in the Bryan Recital Hall.
She will perform J.S. Bach’s Partita No. 4 in D Major, Claude Debussy’s "Images, Book 2,"
Elliott Carter’s Piano Sonata (1945-46), and Nikolai Kapustin: Variations, Op. 41.
THURSDAY
Jazz master  saxophonist Jimmy Heath will perform a concert with Jazz Lab Band I, directed by David
Bixler, at 8 p.m. in Kobacker Hall. The band will play Heath’s compositions and arrangements. Tickets
are $7 in advance and $10 at the door; student tickets are $3.
 
FRIDAY & SATURDAY
The University Dance Ensemble hosts its annual dance concert at 8 p.m. in the Donnell Theatre in the
Wolfe Center for the Arts. The performance features works in jazz, pointe, tap and contemporary dance.
Choreography is by Dance Program faculty Kristi Faulkner, Colleen Murphy, Tammy Starr and Tracy Wilson
and  undergraduate dance majors Olivia King and Kelly Schmidt. Tickets are $10 from the Wolfe Center Box
Office an hour before each show.
FRIDAY
"Growing Through Sacrifice," an Elsewhere Theatre devised piece by Bethany Kuchar.will be
presented at 8 p.m. in the Eva Marie Saint Theatre in the Wolfe Center for the Arts.
 
SUNDAY
Alan Smith, professor of cello, and Laura Melton, professor of piano, will give a concert in the Great
Gallery at the Toledo Museum of Art at 3 p.m. On the program will be: Sonata No.2 for cello and piano by
Bohuslav Martinu and Sonata No. 2 in D Major for cello and piano by Felix Mendelsson.
 
FEB. 3
The students in the oboe studio of Nermis Mieses will perform at the Manor House at Toledo’s Wildwood
Metropark at 7:30 p.m.
 
FEB. 4
Tom Rosenkranz  will perform a Faculty Artist Series recital at 8 p.m. in the Bryan Recital Hall. On the
program will be: Frederic Rzewski, Piano Piece no. 4; John Adams, "Hallelujah Junction" for
two-pianos with  DMA student Stephanie Titus; and Charles Ives, "Concord Sonata."
