PERRYSBURG — Perrysburg High School’s drama department will present three Winter One Acts.
Shows are Thursday, Friday and Jan. 24 and Jan. 29-31 at 7:30 p.m., and Jan. 25 and Feb. 1 at 2:30 p.m.
in the high school auditorium.
All seats are $7 and are available online starting 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at www.tinyurl.com/perrysburgtheatre
or one hour prior to curtain time.
The Winter One Acts are three one-act plays performed in the round, which means the audience is seated
onstage facing the actors from three sides. This provides the actors and audience members a more
intimate setting, and makes every facial expression and gesture easier to observe.
Each play is approximately 30 to 45 minutes.
“Campsite Chaos: A Frantically Romantic Love Story” by Ken Preuss
Zoe thinks a quiet, romantic camping trip in the middle of nowhere should be the perfect opportunity for
her easily-distracted boyfriend Perry to finally pop the question. But this idea seems nearly impossible
when a steady stream of unexpected guests — from Robin Hood to The Safety Squirrels — show up. With a
new forest-dweller disaster happening every time her boyfriend turns his back, will Zoe ever find a
moment for a perfect proposal?
“To Absent Friend” by Rand Higbee
High school senior Eric Nilsson is a patient in the hospital when, late one night, his three closest
friends sneak in to visit. There’s Bruce, the class genius; Shawn, the class clown; and the lovely
Jenny, who brightens any room she’s in. But their jokes and antics do little to lift Eric’s spirits. It
is only when they talk about their drinking before the car accident all four of them were in that Eric
finds the courage to face the question why he alone survived.
“The Express Line” by Tom Fitzpatrick III
A supermarket customer in the express line has two more items than allowed. Despite his pleas, the
checker adamantly refuses to serve him. The insistent customer ignores his embarrassed wife and the
growing anger of the people in line behind him. When the manager fails to back the checker, other
employees threaten to walk out.
