Leon F. Bockbrader, age 89, of Pemberville, OH, passed away on Monday, January, 12, 2015.
He was born on May 7, 1925 in Toledo, OH to Carl and Mary (Schultz) Bockbrader.
His youth was spent on the homestead along the Portage River. When he was younger he enjoyed farming,
golfing, bowling, dart ball and being a member of the Lions Club. As he grew older he was a WWE
wrestling fan and enjoyed camping with the Good Sam Loafers Chapter #15, Toledo.
Leon was a life member of the Ohio Good Sam Camping Club which in 2003 he and his wife were named King
and Queen. In 2005 they were named Pemberville Fair Royalty. His other memberships included: life member
of Salem Lutheran Church, church vestry, Pemberville Town Councilman and Pemberville Volunteer Fireman.

Leon worked as an inspector for over 36 years at Libbey-Owens-Ford, East Broadway Plant #4. Upon
retirement in 1980 he began a second career as an appliance repairman.
Those left to carry on without him are his devoted wife of 67 years: Marcena (Beeker), whom he married on
April 18, 1947; son: Rodney (Dolores) Bockbrader of Freeport, OH; daughter: Melissa (Mark) Heineman of
Curtice; daughter-in-law: Shari Bockbrader of Pemberville; and brother: Dale (Juanita) Bockbrader of
Lima, OH.
His greatest joy was spending time with his family and loving his grandchildren: Joel Heineman and Bryan
Bockbrader both of CA, Megan (Jim) Ferguson of GA, Kristen Bockbrader of IN and Justin Bockbrader of
Pemberville.
He was preceded in death by his son Brad in 2012, brother Kenneth "Lover" Bockbrader and sister
Marian Schneider.
The family is grateful to special niece, Lisa Bockbrader, for her concern and kindness.

Family and friends will be received on Friday, January 16, 2015 from 12 to 2 p.m. at the Marsh Funeral
Home, 4094 State Route 105, Pemberville, OH with funeral services beginning at 2 p.m. Officiating will
be Rev. Jaci Tiell.
Interment will be in Pemberville Cemetery.
A bereavement luncheon will be served in the Bowlus Life Enrichment Center at Otterbein Portage Valley
immediately following the cemetery committal services.
Memorials may be directed to: Pemberville Freedom Fire Department Association or the charity of the
donor’s choice.
