NORTH BALTIMORE – Three people were sent to area hospitals following a six-vehicle pileup on Interstate
75 southbound near the 168 milepost Saturday night that closed the roadway for hours.
The Bowing Green post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol reports that around 7:30 p.m. a passenger car was
southbound when the driver lost control and struck a concrete barrier.
A semi tractor-trailer hauling a tanker trailer then struck the car, and a second commercial vehicle
subsequently struck the tanker, causing a collision with a third commercial vehicle.
A fourth commercial vehicle was struck in the rear by a second passenger car, which was pushed under that
vehicle.
Two people were taken to Wood County Hospital, and one was taken to Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay,
with non-life threatening injuries.
The identities of those involved were not available this morning.
The crash prompted a closure of southbound I-75 in the area; ODOT issued an alert at 10:36 p.m. Saturday
night that the roadway had reopened.
The crash remains under investigation, and further details were not available this morning.
