Christmas tree recycling
The City of Bowling Green will be conducting Christmas tree collection during the week starting Monday.
Those who receive city-provided refuse and recycling collection are eligible for the curbside tree
collection program.
To ensure collection, the trees should be placed curbside by 7 a.m. on Monday. Remove all metal nails,
tree stands, lights and do not leave them curbside in plastic bags.
The Wood County Landfill accepts one tree, at no charge, per residential customer.
Any questions regarding the tree collection should be directed to the Public Works Department at

Portage Twp. Trustees meet
The Portage Township Trustees will hold their reorganization meeting followed by their regular meeting on
Thursday at 5 p.m. at the township hall at the corner of Huffman and Mermill roads.
Driver hits ditch, taken to hospital
GRAND RAPIDS – One person was injured in a crash Wednesday at Wapakoneta Road, just north of Long Judson
Road.
The Wood County Sheriff’s Office reports that Travis Schultz, McClure, was southbound on Wapakoneta Road
and went to pass a vehicle driven by Andrea Cummins, Bryan.
Schultz then traveled off the left side of the road, struck a ditch and overturned.
Schultz sustained non-incapacitating injuries and was taken to Wood County Hospital by Northwest 190 EMS.

He was cited for failure to control.
