In 2013, seven people died in six crashes during the two-day Christmas reporting period.
“No matter what, one death on Ohio’s roadways is one too many,” said Colonel Paul A. Pride, Ohio State
Highway Patrol superintendent. “From the troopers patrolling the streets for dangerous drivers to the
motorists behind the wheel, we need all hands on deck to close out 2014 as safely as we can.”
Troopers continue to crack down on impaired drivers; in 2014, troopers arrested over 24,500 motorists for
impaired driving.
The public is encouraged to continue using #677 to report dangerous or impaired drivers, as well as drug
activity.
