Edwin M. Mungons, age 84, passed away Monday, November 18, 2013.He was born January 17, 1929 in
Toledo, Ohi,o to Andrew and Barbara Mungons. After graduating from Jessup W. Scott High School, he served in
the U.S. Army’s 7th Infantry Division during the Korean War.Following his military service, he enjoyed a
successful 20-year career in chemical sales with Oakite Products. In 1973 he purchased the Waterville
Machine Shop and began a new career as the head of a machining company with production contracts for
Champion Spark Plug and the U.S. Department of Defense. Several years later the machine shop began
specializing in the production of wheelchair carriers, utilizing five U.S. patents Ed was awarded for
designs to assist those with special needs. The Tilt ‘n Tote wheelchair carriers were sold by distributors
nationwide until Ed and Cathie retired in 1983 and moved to Florida.In 2006, Ed and his wife Cathie returned
to Northwest Ohio to enjoy time with their families.Ed is survived by his wife, Catherine Mungons, son,
Derek (Amy) Mungons, daughter, Stacy (Jeff) Cox, step-daughter, Theresa (Les) Calcamuggio and step-daughter,
Bev (Dean) Bechstein. Ed is also survived by brother, Andrew (Eleanor) Mungons, brother, Ralph (Mary)
Mungons, seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday,
November 22 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Bowling Green, Ohio, followed by a private burial.In lieu of
flowers, the family suggests donations to St. Mark Lutheran Church or Wood Lane School in Bowling Green.Dunn
