"Guiding Pathways," a creative arts day program that promotes community
connectedness and mental stimulation, is being offered every month in Bowling Green. It is a
collaboration with Bowling Green Manor, Wood Lane, First Christian Church and the Wood County Committee
on Aging. Those who wish to explore the arts and want to participate in activities to promote cognitive
stimulation, purposeful engagement or simply to be social, are invited to this gathering every third
Friday of the month. Guiding Pathways is held at First Christian Church, located at 875 Haskins Road,
Bowling Green. The gatherings have participants experience interaction in a relaxing and engaging
environment. Participation aims to foster fellowship, promote exploration of movement and music,
theater, art, small group activities, and community outreach. The goal of Guiding Pathways is not only to
provide a place for participants to socialize and take part in stimulating activities, but also to
enable caregivers to have some time for themselves. Although program organizers wish to give caregivers
this time to themselves, caregivers are certainly welcome to attend with their loved ones if they prefer
to. There is a $5 program fee for Guiding Pathways. The next Guiding Pathways is to take place on Friday,
Nov. 15 from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. The theme is "Thankfulness."Anyone who feels they or a loved
one – especially someone with mild to moderate cognitive impairment – would benefit from this program
should contact the WCCOA Programs Department. Register at 419-353-5661 or 1-800-367-4935 or by emailing
