Spooky tours offered at Fort Meigs this month

PERRYSBURG – Fort Meigs will offer "spirited" strolls on Friday and Saturday, and
again Oct. 25 and 26.Guests and their guides will encounter the spookier side of this historic place and
hear tales from the past by fire light. Reservations are required and can be made by calling
419-874-4121 or 800-283-8916.Tours start at 7 p.m. from the visitor center and run every 15 minutes
until 9 p.m. Groups will accompany guides into the fort and for a lantern-lit tour. Guests will hear
ghost stories at various stops along the way. Total touring time lasts about 90 minutes. Make sure to
dress for the weather and wear comfortable walking shoes.This is a fundraising event for the Fort Meigs
volunteer association. Admission is $8 for ages 13 and above and $4 for children ages six through 12.
This event is not recommended for children under the age of 5.Fort Meigs, the largest reconstructed,
wooden-walled fort in the country, is located one mile west of downtown Perrysburg at 29100 West River
