Trafficking case follows OSP stopA California man is facing human trafficking charges after
Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers discovered two female human trafficking victims this week during a
traffic stop in Lucas County.Troopers also located 20 grams of marijuana and a loaded .45 caliber
Springfield Arms handgun in the suspect’s vehicle.Troopers stopped a 2012 Nissan Versa, with California
registration, for a speed violation eastbound on Interstate 80, near milepost 57, in Lucas County at
9:15 a.m. Troopers detected an odor of raw marijuana coming from the vehicle. A probable cause search
revealed the marijuana and loaded handgun. Further investigation revealed paraphernalia associated with
the sex trade. Upon contact with the young female passengers, a 21-year-old California woman and a
25-year-old Arizona woman, they admitted to being forced into prostitution.The suspect, James D.
Jackson, 21, of Sacramento, Calf., was incarcerated in the Lucas County Jail and charged with human
trafficking, a first-degree felony; carrying a concealed weapon; a fourth-degree felony; and possession
of criminal tools, a fifth-degree felony.Haskins Council meeting canceledHASKINS – Due to the

responded to two burglaries reported Monday.At 8 a.m. officers were called to the 3000 block of Bordeaux
Rue. The residents reported that after awakening around 7:45 a.m. they discovered that the home had been
entered by an unknown individual. Three laptop computers, a cellphone and two tablet devices were
taken.Total value of the items was $1,669.Copper wire was reported stolen at 6:45 p.m. in the 4000 block
