FSA County Committee nominations start Mon.

COLUMBUS – The acting state executive director for Ohio’s Farm Service Agency, David Drake,
announced candidate nominations begin Monday for local FSA county committees. FSA is accepting
nomination forms for eligible candidates to serve on the local FSA County Committees.The nomination
period ends Aug. 1."I urge all farmers and landowners to participate in this year’s county
committee elections by nominating candidates by the Aug. 1 deadline," Drake said. "County
committees are a vital link between the farm community and the U.S. Department of Agriculture and
provide a voice to landowners and farmers so that they have an opportunity for their opinions and ideas
to be heard."FSA County Committees have an important role in the decision making process for
commodity price support loans and payments, conservation and disaster programs and other important
agricultural issues in their farming community.Almost anyone participating or cooperating in a local FSA
program may be a candidate. Individuals may nominate themselves or others.All nomination forms must be
received in the County FSA office or postmarked by Aug. 1. The nomination form is available at local FSA
offices and online. Voting is between Nov. 4 and Dec. 2.A producer is eligible to be a County FSA
Committee member if the producer lives in the Local Administrative Areas up for election, participates
or cooperates in a program administered by FSA and is an eligible voter.Additional information about
