ABBOTT PARK, Ill. (AP) — Abbott Laboratories is recallingits FreeStyle InsuLinx Blood Glucose
Meters after finding that theydisplay and store incorrect test results for dangerously high bloodsugar
levels.The Abbott Park, Ill., company says the meters willdisplay and store readings for blood glucose
levels of 1,024 milligramsper deciliter or higher at much lower levels. That’s an extremely highand rare
level that requires immediate medical attention.Theinaccurate readings can lead to a delay in
identifying the problem orincorrect treatment. Abbott says that can lead to serious injury
ordeath.Abbott says customers with the meter should contact itsdiabetes care customer service or
download a software update thatresolves the issue.Johnson & Johnson announced a similar recall
