Ermie to leave Perrysburg City Council

PERRYSBURG – After more than a decade on Perrysburg City Council, Maria Ermie is stepping
down.Ermie made the announcement at the close of Tuesday’s council meeting, saying that she will remain on
council until the end of April. She cited health issues as the reason for her departure.Ermie was elected to
council in 2001, and has served as chair of the Personnel Committee.After her announcement, Mayor Nelson
Evans, who himself is term-limited and will be concluding his tenure as mayor at the end of the year,
credited Ermie with prompting him to run for the office.Following Ermie’s departure, council will have 30
days to make an appointment to fill her seat for the rest of the year. Evans noted that applications are
available in the Municipal Building.
