Legion council meets TuesdayThe Wood County Council American Legion meeting will be Tuesday at
7 p.m., hosted by North Baltimore American Legion Post.Process for determining post alternates that will
be sponsored by Wood County Council for attendance to Buckeye Boys State will be outlined.Book group
meets TuesdayJust the Facts, Wood County District Public Library’s nonfiction book group, will meet
Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. The group, led by Anne Render, meets in the library’s second floor Reading Lounge
to discuss "How Children Succeed" by Paul Tough.Light refreshments will be served, and copies
of the group’s next book, "The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks," will be available to
check-out.Traffic Commission looks at 3 itemsBowling Green’s Traffic Commission will consider three
items at its Wednesday night meeting.• Removal of on-street parking from both sides of Meeker Street
between Wallace and Conneaut avenues. The request was made by Larry Bostwick, 604 Morton Ave.• Removal
of on-street parking from the outbound sides of St. Anne Court, Sawgrass Court, and Turnberry Court.
Municipal Administrator John Fawcett made the request.• Removal of two on-street parking spaces in front
of 123 and 129 S. Prospect St. as part of the CVS construction projects and to maintain adequate
ingress/egress.The commission meets in the City Administrative Services Building, 304 N. Church
St.Fundraiser for Friends of ParksFriends of the Wood County Parks is having a FUNdraiser at Max
& Erma’s at the Levis Commons location on Thursday from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m.A coupon ticket

a.m.Fire damages Pemberville homePEMBERVILLE – Fire damaged a home on Lemoyne Road Sunday.The fire was
reported at 12:46 p.m. in the 17000 block of Lemoyne Road. The blaze was reported to authorities by a
passerby. No one was at home at the time of the fire.The Pemberville-Freedom Township Fire Department
was called to the scene, and the Wayne, Bradner and Troy Township departments were also notified. The
State Fire Marshal was also called to the scene.Crews remained on-scene until just after 6 p.m.A message
left with the Pemberville Fire Department seeking additional details was not returned before press
