New film series opens at BG’s GroundsThe "Other Musics Free Films on Free Sounds"
series kicks off a new series Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Grounds for Thought, 174 S. Main St., Bowling
Green.Two documentaries on the psychedelic music scene in Austin, Texas will be screened. Byron Coley’s
2007 film "You’re Gonna Miss Me: A Film About Roky Erickson" profiles the career of the 13th
Floor Elevators frontman. Scott Conn’s "Dirt Road to Psychedelia: Austin Texas During the
1960’s" from 2007 explores Austin’s role in that decade’s emerging counterculture.HOPE meets
WednesdayHOPE support group, for people who have lost loved ones to suicide, will meet Wednesday 7 p.m.

bonds for its aquatic complex and the North Main Street widening project at 1.916 percent for a 20-year
term.Municipal Administrator John Fawcett told city council March 4 the bonds were purchased by 5/3
Bank. "Our bond consultant has told us he has never seen a rate that low," Fawcett
said.Standard and Poor continues to rate the city at A+, Fawcett said.In 2012 the city refinanced $6.095
million in 2004 bonds, dropping the interest rate from 4 percent to $2.4 percent. Fawcett said that move
will save the city $890,000 in interest costs.The refinance bonds cover a variety of projects from the
community center to utility projects.City Finance Director Brian Bushong said keeping the bond amounts
under $10 million allows banks to bid on the bonds and generally provides lower rates.WeatherTonight –

injuredHASKINS – A village woman was injured in a two-vehicle crash Sunday.The Wood County Sheriff’s
Office reports that Michael Konczal Jr., Bowling Green, was stopped eastbound on Cross Creek Road at a
stop sign Sunday morning when he pulled into the intersection with Ohio 64, and was struck by a
southbound vehicle driven by Jennifer Barbour, Haskins.Barbour was taken to Wood County Hospital by
Middleton Township EMS with non-incapacitating injuries.Konczal was cited for right of way at an
intersection.Thefts reported in WestonWESTON – The Wood County Sheriff’s Office reported a series of
thefts in the village over the weekend.Three thefts were reported Saturday in the 13000 block of Silver
Street. The stereo system was reported stolen from a vehicle in one of the incidents. A fourth theft was
reported Sunday in the 13000 block of Center Street. A bicycle was stolen in that incident.Retired
teachers meet Thurs.The Wood County Retired Teachers Association will meet Thursday at the First United
Methodist Church in Bowling Green.A social hour will begin at 11:30 a.m. followed by a parmesan-crusted
chicken breast lunch at noon. The cost is $12.Kelly Barone, an education coordinator with STRS, will
share legislative news.The scholarship baskets will be on each table to support future educators. Canned
