Todd Wright inducted into Ball State hall of fameMUNCIE, Ind. – Todd Wright, a three-sport
standout at Bowling Green High School, was recently inducted into the Ball State athletics hall of
fame.Wright was a three-year letterman on the Ball State football team from 1986-91, serving a team
co-captain as a senior.He started 34 consecutive games in his career on the offensive line and was an
All-Mid-American Conference first-team pick as a junior and a senior.As a senior, Wright helped the Ball
State offense tally over 1,500 yards on the ground and 1,400 through the air. The 1989 team post a 7-3-2
overall record and win the MAC championship with a 6-1-1 record.The 1989 Cardinals played in the school’s
first-ever NCAA Division I-A bowl game – the California Raisin Bowl.Wright was Ball State’s nominee for the
MAC’s Vern Smith Award as the league’s most valuable player as a senior.Wright is currently an account
executive with Phoenix Steel Service.Falcons hire linebacker coachRobert Neviaser has been hired to coach
linebackers for the Bowling Green State University football team. He replaces Clark Lea, who accepted a
position at Syracuse last month.Neviaser spent the past two seasons at Stony Brook, serving as the team’s
defensive coordinator and defensive line coach, helping the team advance to the playoffs each year. This
past season with the Seawolves his defense ranked fourth in the nation in scoring defense and sixth
nationally in total defense.Prior to Stony Brook Neviaser spent three years at Rhode Island. During his time
with the Rams, Neviaser served as defensive line coach each season, acting as defensive coordinator for the
last two. In 2010, Rhode Island upset No. 2 Villanova and No. 8 New Hampshire, as Neviaser’s defense forced
seven turnovers in the two wins. In 2009, the Rams’ defensive unit ranked second in the Colonial Athletic
Association with a plus-10 turnover margin.Neviaser spent five seasons at the University of Delaware from
2002-06. The Blue Hens went 41-22 during that span, winning the Division 1-AA national title in 2003.
Delaware recorded 41 sacks and 116 tackles for loss, leading the Atlantic 10 in rushing defense and scoring
defense that season.Neviaser also spent time at Yale (1997-2002; outside linebackers), Boston College
(1995-97; graduate assistant), Harvard (1994-95; offensive line assistant) and King’s College (1993-94;
intern).Owens’ Scott earns OCCAC honorKarahn Scott, a sophomore forward for the Owens Community College
Express women’s basketball team, is the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference player of the week.Scott
opened the week with 17 points, 18 rebounds, four steals and two assists in an 80-70 win over Edison
Community College on Feb. 20.Then, in an 88-79 win over Columbus State Community College on Feb. 23, Scott
had 11 points, 13 rebounds and two steals in the OCCAC title.
