Ohio to complete widening of Interstate 71

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Ohio’s Highway Department says work isunder way to expand the only
two-lane section left on Interstate 71between Columbus and Cleveland.The Ohio Department
ofTransportation says work on the three-phase project has already begun innorthern Morrow County with
another project scheduled to start thisweek.The Columbus Dispatch reports Monday (http://bit.ly/13aCfZo ) that the final leg will be
finished in 2015 with $144 million spent to widen the final 25 miles.Newsfour years ago that the state
ran out of money to finish that stretchupset local officials. Most of the route to Cleveland is now
threelanes.ODOT spokeswoman Nancy Burton says the state has enoughmoney for the project from cuts, staff
