Fire & Ice benefit includes bartending competition

The American Red Cross of Wood County is gearing up for their annual Fire & Ice event
and the celebrity bartender contest is expected to be a big draw again this year.Fire chiefs,
lieutenants, and paramedics from the Rossford, Perrysburg, Bowling Green, and Troy Township fire
departments will compete for a year’s worth of bragging rights while earning tips to benefit American
Red Cross.City of Perrysburg’s Fire Fighter/Paramedic Aaron Harwell will be returning to defend his
title."It’s a great opportunity for our community to appreciate and celebrate our local
heroes," said Chris Diefenthaler, director of the American Red Cross in Wood County. "The

Now’s Jerry Anderson as MC will take place on Feb.15 at The Clazel, 127 N. Main St., Bowling Green, from
7 to 11 p.m.This annual event sponsored by Rudolph/Libbe Inc. honors first responders and community
partners while raising funds to support American Red Cross in Wood County. This year, a special
presentation will highlight the commitment Red Cross has to members of the U.S. military, its veterans
and their families.The event will include live entertainment by the Bourbon Street Band, dancing, a
photo booth by Phototwine. Attendees can also participate in a wine bottle raffle sponsored by Cousino
Harris Disaster Kleen-up, a jewelry raffle sponsored by C. Sterling Jewelers and silent auctions.Tickets
can be purchased for $25 by contacting the Red Cross of Wood County at (419)352-4575 or at the chapter
office at 150 Gorrell St. in Bowling Green. They are also available online at
