Stanley M. Kuron, age 56, passed peacefully on January 23, 2013 at Heartland of Waterville.Stan
was born to Virginia and Stanley Kuron in Toledo, Ohio on January 9, 1957. He was the youngest of two
children and would go on to graduate from Whitmer High School in 1975.In 1994 he married Jayne Hixenbaugh
and together they raised two boys, Jordan and Stanley Jacek.He held careers in the flooring industry at
McGranahan’s Distributing and Oxie’s Rugs and Carpet. Stan eventually moved on to have a career at Midwest
Tape.Stan enjoyed life and spent many good years racing his own horses at Raceway Park. Stan, better known
as "Marty" or "Sam" to friends, loved his pigeons and raced them frequently. He picked
up flying pigeons from his dad, "Kuba" and together they enjoyed the sport for many years. In 2003
and 2004 he was the first place winner of the Motor City Race.He was a member of the Old Elm Club, SFA
Flying Club and the American Racing Pigeon Union.Stan had a very special connection with the kids at Otsego
High School and attended many events at the school including football games and cross country meets.
Throughout the last few months of his life, they had adopted a slogan that signifies the support, compassion
and love of the Otsego community: STANstrong.Stan was preceded in death by both parents.He is survived by
his sons, Jordan and Jacek Kuron, sister, Denise Kirk and her children, Christopher, Michael, Daniel and
Teri.A memorial service in Stan’s honor will be held at Otsego Elementary School, 18505 Tontogany Creek
Road, on Sunday, January 27 at noon.In lieu of flowers donations should be made the Otsego High School
