Salon 741, 8 et 40The Wood County Salon No. 741 met at Gloria Verbeke’s home on Thursday.
Colleen Phillips was the co-hostess.The meeting was opened by Le Chapeau Shirley Davis with pledge and
prayer. The committees reported.Children and Youth Gwen Shroeder-Zulch requests donations for the
children in hospitals with lung and respiratory diseases. Verbeke reported on the Nurses Scholarship.
Cards were sent by Tammy Firsdon. The salon has lost a wonderful member in Mary Kohring.Darlene Hanneman
gave a PR report. Firsdon requests prayers for L’Aumonier’s book.The next meeting will be held Feb. 14,
Valentine’s Day, at Schroeder-Zulch’s home in Jerry City.Laureate Gamma SigmaSix members met Jan. 7 at
the home of Jackie Shank in Waterville.Correspondence included a thank you from Barbara Heiman for her
yellow rose, and a letter from The Cocoon shelter. It was voted to send the shelter $100.The last
cookbook from international is now available at $6.50.Jackie Shank turned in a bill for Christmas gifts
for a family of six children and their mother.The club’s Jan. 21 meeting will begin at 11:30 with lunch
at Moser’s in Tontogany, and the meeting following at Betty Buehrer’s home. Since there is so much
request for peanut butter and jelly, everyone is to bring a jar of each to this meeting for the Otsego
Food Pantry.Joyce Asmus will check on the possibility of touring the Toledo Museum of Art.The valentine
meeting and revealing of secret pals will be Feb. 4 at the home of Donna Lambert, beginning with lunch
served at noon.Another Avon party is set for March 4.Members Janice Kaiser and Donna Lambert visited
Delores Wickard at Blakely Care Center in December. Heiman and Joyce Asmus will visit her in
January.Since presidential inauguration day is near, Shank gave a program on ceremonies over the years.A
get-well card was signed for Judy Robinson, who is recovering from a fall.
