Mercer Road closed Friday
Mercer Road between Wooster Street and Poe Road will be closed to through traffic
Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The closure will assist with the move-in of Bowling Green State University students.

Two people hurt in Wed. accident
Two people were injured following a crash on Sand Ridge Road, southwest of Bowling
Green Wednesday.
The Wood County Sheriff’s Office reports that at 4:11 p.m. Rachelle Brueshaber,
Milton Center, driving a 2002 Ford Focus, had stopped southbound at the Liberty
Hi Road intersection with Sand Ridge Road, and then pulled into the
intersection.
Brueshaber was subsequently struck by a 2001 Chrysler Sebring driven by Annastasia
Holland, Weston, eastbound on Sand Ridge.
Both drivers reported non-incapacitating injuries and were taken to Wood County
Hospital by Mid-County EMS.
Brueshaber was cited for failure to yield from a stop sign.
Slippery Elm work next week
The Slippery Elm Trail will have intermittent "block offs" beginning
Tuesday and concluding Aug. 24.
Wood County Park District Director Neil Munger said Wednesday that portions of the
trail will be closed for surface maintenance, and visitors are asked to stay off
the marked-off portions until they are re-opened.
The "block offs" will be occurring along the trail’s length between Bowling
Green and North Baltimore.
Red Cross sets classes in BG
The Red Cross is offering at its Bowling Green District Office, 150 Gorrell Ave:
• Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., adult and pediatric first aid/CPR/AED.
• Monday from 6 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 6 to 8:30 p.m., CPR/AED for professional
rescuers and health care providers.
• Sept. 22, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., adult and pediatric first aid/CPR/AED.

No dinner at Martha’s Kitchen
Martha’s Kitchen will not be able to provide its weekly dinner this Friday due to the
unavailability of the First United Methodist Church on East Wooster Street.
The dinners will resume on Aug. 24.
