Thelma Long, 86, of North Baltimore and formerly of Bloomdale, Catawba Island, and
Hernando, FL passed away at 3:30 p.m. on Monday, July 16, 2012, at her
daughter’s home.
She was born on June 4, 1926, to the late G. Murl and Helen A. (Milliron) Kirian in
Helena, OH. She married Elmer Long on August 15, 1945, and he survives.
Thelma is also survived by son, Donald (Cathy) Long of North Baltimore; daughters:
Ruth (Benny) Kerr of North Baltimore and Betty (Dan Neff) Johnson of Fostoria;
grandchildren: Willie (Renee) Schafer of North Baltimore, Sheryl (Charity)
Schafer of Findlay, Steve (Jamie) Schafer of Bloomdale, Christy (Paul) Fry of
Findlay, Chasity (Guy) McCartney of Van Buren, Mary (Kevin) Brown of Findlay,
Mark (Cindy) Long of Perrysburg, Misty Emahiser of Fostoria, Perry Johnson of
South Carolina, Tim (Anna) Johnson of Wayne, Bill (Michelle) Johnson of
Fostoria, Anjie (David) Smolenski of Holiday, FL, Mary (Charles) Parks of Mt.
Blanchard, Donnie (Cindy) Long of North Baltimore, Danny (Chasity) Long of
Bloomdale, John (Kim) Vaughn of Pemberville and Richard Vaughn of North
Baltimore; 19 great-grandchildren; 27 step-great-grandchildren; three
great-great-grandchildren; and nine step-great-great-grandchildren.
Thelma was also preceded in death by a brother, Lloyd D. Kirian; a daughter-in-law,
Helen Long; a son-in-law, Robert Johnson.
Thelma worked as a production worker for Autolite. She was a life member of the
Eagleville Church of Christ. Thelma was an avid boater and enjoyed fishing and
country music.
A funeral service will be held at 1
p.m., Friday, July 20, 2012, at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, North Baltimore, with
Reverend Ralph Mineo officiating. Burial will be in Weaver Cemetery, Bloom
Township. Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Thursday, at
SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME.
