Chicken group meets July 24
Bowling Green’s Planning Commission’s Subcommittee to consider permitting egg-laying chickens in
residential areas will meet July 24 at 7 p.m. in the City Administrative Services Building, 304 N.
Church St.
Anyone interested in the issue can attend the meeting or submit any correspondence to the Planning

Fire departments drill Saturday
Several fire departments, including Bowling Green, will participate in a water movement drill at Bellard
Industrial Park Saturday.
From approximately 8:30 am until noon a large number of fire engines and water tankers will be traveling
to, and operating near, Newton, Brim, Miller, and Bellard roads.
The purpose of the exercise is to practice water movement and to strengthen and test cooperation and
communication among local fire departments.
Dinner to aid new VA clinic
BRADNER – The Bradner American Legion, 209 W. Crocker St., will hold a pork chop dinner Sunday from 11:30
a.m. to 2 p.m. Cost is $7.
All proceeds will benefit the new VA clinic in Toledo. Call (419) 288-3634 for carryouts.
Haskins group meets Tuesday
HASKINS – The Haskins Streets and Utilities Committee will meet Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in the town hall,.

Topics of discussion will be the retention pond, generator, Church Street and other issues.
Romney BG site opens Tuesday
The Mitt Romney for President Victory Center in Bowling Green will hold its grand opening Tuesday at 9:30
a.m.
The victory center is inside the Wood County Republican Party Headquarters located at 111 South Main St.

The keynote speaker will be Congressman Bob Latta, R-Bowling Green.
